Easter
Jake and I are both now vaccinated as is a huge swath of our friends and family. Life seems to be resuming. Day by day we are adding things back onto our calendar. Easter, a visit from Tristen, a baby shower for Tori, drinks in the yard with the neighbors. I feel the stress releasing I wasn’t even aware I was holding onto through the pandemic. Simultaneously, I also feel overwhelmed – or maybe that’s not the right word. Scattered is probably more accurate. I hadn’t really realized how much I had filled my life up with work and other virtual commitments over the last year to take the place of what we lost. And now I need to figure out how to resume a balance that makes sense. It’s like when someone retires and you ask them what they will do with all that free time. Of course they fill it.
We went to Illinois for Easter where we dyed eggs with the nieces and nephew and got to hug my grandma. It was pretty darn perfect.
